As a resource-friendly and eco-conscious hotel, good environmental practices are standard at the Birgkarhaus. The hotel takes pride in supporting local farmers and suppliers as well as sustainable businesses in and around Mühlbach. The respect for the environment and nature is also reflected in the authentic architecture. It was of great importance to create a hotel in Salzburger Land that honors regional construction methods and craftsmanship, that harmoniously blends with its surroundings, and that emphasizes nature's beauty and grandeur. The hotel also uses plenty of native plants and trees for a sustainable landscape. The Birgkar is located amid the breathtaking alpine landscape of the Hochkönig with 340km of superb hiking trails.
